Rebutia krainziana is a miniature cactus, native to Bolivia, highly valued by collectors for its abundant and striking flowering. The plant has a small, globular, dark green body, covered with tubercles and fine white spines. In spring and summer, it is covered with large, scarlet-red flowers, which strongly contrast with the plant’s small size, creating a stunning effect.

  • Growth type: Small, globular cactus, solitary at first, but forms clusters through offsets

🌞 Growing conditions:

  • Light: Prefers plenty of light and a few hours of direct sun daily; in very hot summers, light shading at midday is recommended

  • Soil: Very well drained, sandy-stony, special mix for cacti

  • Watering: Low; the substrate must be allowed to dry completely between waterings

  • Wintering: Cold period at 5–10°C, dry, stimulates abundant flowering in the next season

  • Hardiness: Can withstand temperatures down to about –5°C if completely dry, but in Romania requires protected wintering
