Full description and specifications

Puna subterranea is part of the Orchidaceae family, originally from Peru and Bolivia. This plant has a strong root system, which develops underground and has no leaves or stems visible from the surface.

The subterranean plant produces small flowers, which are pollinated by insects and open at night. These flowers have an interesting shape and are usually pink or purple in color, with long and thin petals and sepals.

This plant is rare and is in danger of extinction due to the destruction of its natural habitat and excessive picking by collectors.

The underground pond needs moderate humidity, constant temperatures (18-22°C), moderate light, well-drained soil and diluted fertilizer. It is fertilized during the growing season, using a slow-release fertilizer, diluted to half the recommended dose, once every two weeks.

Synonyms: Andinia subterranea or Galeandra subterranea.

Height with pots included approx. 10 cm

The plant is sold without flowers. The decorative bowl is not included in the price.
