The Masdevallia orchid is native to South America.

The plant grows from a short rhizome, which creates small pseudobulbs. Some are hemicryptophytes: pseudobulb at or just below the surface. Each pseudobulb has smooth, fleshy leaves that grow in clusters. The green leaves are ovate or lanceolate. They usually bloom during the summer. The flowers are triangular in shape and about 6 cm wide. Usually, there is only one flower per stem, but there can be many. The petals and the tongue-shaped or shell-shaped lip are small and partially hidden deep inside the flower. The sepals are often very brightly colored and large.
Approximate height: approx. 20 cm.
Pot diameter: 9 cm.
Attention! This plant is sensitive to transport and may arrive without flowers.

Note: mix of plants with flowers in various shades of purple. A randomly selected specimen from the proposed batch for sale will be shipped. The decorative pot is not included in the price.
