Hoya vitellina 'Java' (IML 1348 H88) retains the batch label. Java is the label. IML 1348 is Liddle's collection number; H88 remains a commercial code, without independent confirmation. In horticulture, this material circulates as Hoya aff. vitellina: related to Hoya vitellina Blume, but not identified as the species described in the 1849 protologue. The foliage is firm and elongated, with prominent veins and occasional silver splash. The flowers range from golden yellow to golden orange and are fragrant.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are oblong or narrowly oval, firm and leathery, with prominent venation. Silver splash markings may appear on the green leaf blade. In bright light, the margins may darken to burgundy, purple or chocolate brown. This cultivated coloration has led to commercial confusion with Hoya fuscomarginata, which is not a synonym of this line. The growth habit is vining; the shoots may climb or trail. Flowers and fragrance. The umbels are globular. The flowers are star-shaped and waxy, ranging from golden yellow to golden orange. The corona is white or pale pink, sometimes with a warmer center. In this batch, an umbel is golden yellow, with a pale corona and pink center. The shade may vary. The flowers are fragrant; reports range from a sweet or fruity note to citrus, so we do not assign a single profile or promise a particular intensity. Identity. The title retains Hoya vitellina 'Java' (IML 1348 H88). The accepted species Hoya vitellina Blume (1849) is native to western Java and Borneo (Sarawak); it is not endemic to Java alone. H88 has not been independently identified and remains on the label.

Stock specimens may have leaves with defects or scars, which do not affect their viability.
