Hoya nicholsoniae F.Muell. is an accepted species, a vine native to New Guinea, Queensland, New Caledonia, Samoa, and the Solomon Islands. The leaves are ovate-elliptic, glossy, with visible veins; they do not have the silvery effect of the NS16-006 selection. The growth habit is trailing or climbing. The flowers form star-shaped umbels, pale yellow or cream, with a creamy white corona. The title retains the mention of fragrant flowers. This material is listed separately from Hoya verticillata (formerly Pottsii) in the catalog.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are ovate to elliptic, with pointed tips, firm and glossy, medium to dark green. The veins are visible on the upper surface. There is no variegation and no silvery effect like that of the cultivar 'New Guinea Ghost'. In bright light, some leaf blades may develop a bronze tint or more pronounced coloration along the veins; this is not a guaranteed color on every leaf. The growth habit is that of a trailing or climbing vine. Styling photos show a white ceramic pot; the ceramic pot is not included in the price.

Flowers and fragrance. The umbels bear waxy, star-shaped flowers in shades of deep yellow, pale yellow, and cream, with a creamy white corona. The commercial duration recorded for an umbel is approximately one week. The flowers are fragrant. In the commercial product description, the notes were recorded as lemon/citrus; scent perception varies, so we do not define it as a single fixed aroma. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.

Identity. The accepted name is Hoya nicholsoniae F.Muell., Fragm. 5: 159 (1866).

Substrate: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
