Graptopetalum bellum (Tacitus bellus)
Graptopetalum bellum is a compact and spectacular succulent, prized for its perfect rosette and large, vibrant flowers.
Main features:
• Leaves: thick, fleshy, gray-green or silver-green, arranged in flat and symmetrical rosettes, with a matte appearance.
• Flowers: large flowers (up to 2.5 cm in diameter), deep pink to red, with five pointed petals. Blooms generally in spring and early summer.
• Dimensions: the rosette can reach a diameter of 10-15 cm; the plant remains low, close to the ground.
• Light: prefers bright indirect light or filtered sun; in areas with mild sun it can tolerate direct exposure.
• Watering: infrequent watering; allow the substrate to dry completely between waterings. During the dormant period (winter), watering is greatly reduced.
• Soil: very well-drained soil, ideal for cacti and succulents.
• Temperature: the ideal temperature is between 18°C and 24°C. Minimum tolerated approximately -4°C for short periods, but it is recommended not to be exposed below 0°C.
• Humidity: prefers dry air; high humidity can promote rotting.
• Propagation: by separating the seedlings or by leaf cuttings.
