Anthurium ‘Chelsey Chocolate’ - spectacular flowers
Anthurium, also known as "Flamingo Flower" or "Painter's Palette", is a popular indoor plant native to Central and South America. It is known for its glossy leaves and colorful spathes surrounding a cylindrical inflorescence called a spadix. To keep an Anthurium healthy and thriving, follow these care instructions:
Light: Anthurium prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. If you do not have enough natural light, you can also use artificial lighting.
Watering: Make sure the soil is well drained and water the plant regularly. Allow the surface of the soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering during winter.
Humidity: Anthurium is a tropical plant, so it prefers high humidity. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves with water, placing the plant on a tray of wet pebbles, or using a humidifier.
Temperature: Anthurium prefers temperatures between 20–30 degrees Celsius and does not tolerate temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius. Avoid placing the plant in drafts or near heat sources or air-conditioning units.
General care: Remove dried leaves and flowers to keep the plant clean and healthy. The plant can be fertilized once a month during the growing season with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.
Repotting: Anthurium should be repotted every two years or when the roots begin to grow through the drainage holes. Use a well-draining potting mix suitable for epiphytic plants.
