Pomatocalpa bambusarum – a rare botanical species, small in size (miniature), considered fascinating by collectors and enthusiasts.
The plant itself mainly consists of a root mass – the stem is very short and sometimes has no leaves or hosts only 2-7 deciduous leaves. It has the habit of producing keikis, gradually forming clumps (groups of plants).
Although it is a miniature, the plant can simultaneously produce multiple hanging stems, with a length that can exceed 2-3 times the size of the plant. Each stem is loaded with waxy, fragrant flowers about 0.5 cm in size.
Synonyms: Robiquetia bambusara, Cleisostoma bambusarum, Saccolabium bambusarum, Sarcanthus bambusarum
Fragrant flowers: YES
Pomatocalpa bambusarum grows and is cared for like Chiloschista or a mounted Vandaceae.
It is cared for like a mounted Vanda orchid. Consult the care guide here.
