Phalaenopsis Equalacea is a classic primary hybrid, obtained by crossing Phalaenopsis equestris and Phalaenopsis violacea. It is one of the most appreciated primary hybrids thanks to its good vigor, compact-to-medium size, and ability to bloom consistently over long periods.

The plant inherits relatively compact growth and numerous flowers from Phal. equestris, while Phal. violacea contributes color and texture influences. The flowers are 5–7 cm, in shades of pink, lavender-pink, or purplish-pink, with a darker lip. Many specimens have a branched inflorescence or produce successive flowers on the same spike, providing an extended flowering period.

Main characteristics:

  • Primary hybrid (equestris × violacea)
  • Flowers in varying shades of lavender-pink
  • Vigorous and relatively compact growth
  • Often branched inflorescence or successive flowers
  • Elegant and natural appearance

Substrate recommendation: For healthy root development and consistent flowering, a substrate specially designed for Phalaenopsis is recommended. → Professional substrate for Phalaenopsis orchids - Secret Garden
