Hoya kerrii is known as a "hoya cactus" - the plant does well with infrequent watering and medium to low atmospheric humidity and is easy to flower. It requires a substrate with good drainage and good light for flowering.
The flowers are a spectacular blend of cream-caramel-golden hues, with the color changing as the flower matures and produces nectar. The flower color is also influenced by growing conditions and season. The plant is considered easy to flower.
Due to the appearance of the leaves, the plant has received many popular names such as: heart shape hoya, valentine hoya, Sweetheart plant.
The plant was named Hoya kerrii in honor of the British botanist Arthur Francis George Kerr, who studied much of the flora of Thailand during his life.
Origin: Cambodia, Java, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam. The species was first published in 1810.
