Hoya endauensis - a species discovered in 1985 and published by the Malaysian botanist Dr. Ruth Kiew in 1989 on the banks of the Ulu Endau river in Malaysia, from which it takes its name.

Hoya endauensis is still considered a rare species, endangered in its native country.

Hoya endauensis is very similar to Hoya kanyakumariana, which is why the two are often confused.
