Ensete ventricosum 'Maurelii', also known as Red Banana, is one of the most impressive ornamental banana plants, grown for its huge leaves in spectacular shades of burgundy, red-purple, and green-bronze. With very rapid growth during the warm season, this plant can become the centerpiece of any landscape design. Although it resembles a fruit-bearing banana plant, Ensete 'Maurelii' is cultivated almost exclusively for its ornamental value.

📌 Note: In Romania’s climate, Ensete ventricosum 'Maurelii' does not survive winter outdoors. The plant must be protected from frost and overwintered in a bright, cool space or, for specimens planted in the garden, the rhizome can be dug up and kept dry until spring. Leaves may show small tears or aesthetic imperfections caused by handling, wind, or transport. These are normal for plants with large leaves and do not affect the plant’s health or development.
