Coryanthes bruchmuelleri (Bucket Orchid)

Coryanthes bruchmuelleri - a botanical species from the genus Coryanthes, known for its large cups resembling a "bucket". These epiphytic orchids are native to Colombia, Venezuela, and northern Brazil. Coryanthes bruchmuelleri is considered one of the largest species in the genus, as unopened buds can reach 11.7 cm in length and 8 cm in width. The flowers are adapted for pollination by orchid bees (Euglossini bees), with a complex mutual relationship and a unique process of pollen capture and release.
