Bulbophyllum vaginatum (parfum placut)

Bulbophyllum vaginatum is a miniature epiphytic orchid native to Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia, Java and Borneo, found in mangrove, lowland and secondary moist forests. It has small, ovoid, yellow pseudobulbs, spaced on a creeping rhizome, with a single, oblong, dark green, thick leaf. The flowers are small, creamy-yellow, grouped in basal inflorescences, with long sepals ending in fine tendrils, similar to those of Bulbophyllum medusae, but more compact. It blooms twice a year and prefers warm temperatures, high humidity and indirect light. It is valued for its compact growth and exotic appearance of the flowers.
