Bulbophyllum odoratissimum (pleasantly fragrant flowers)

Bulbophyllum odoratissimum - a botanical species that grows in Assam, East Himalaya, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, as well as in the Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Xizang, and Yunnan provinces of China. This plant is found in low-altitude evergreen forests and primary mountain forests, at elevations between 800 and 2500 meters. It is a miniature species that grows well in warm to moderate conditions, either as an epiphyte on trees or as a lithophyte on moss-covered rocks. The plant features spreading, subcylindrical pseudobulbs, each bearing a single apical oblong-lanceolate leaf. It most frequently blooms in spring and summer on a basal, thin inflorescence about 7.5 cm long, which has bracts and an apical cluster of 10 to 20 pleasantly fragrant flowers positioned at the mid-height of the leaf.

For optimal growth, it is recommended that this species be planted in baskets or pots with an open medium, exposed to partial shade, high temperatures, and receive regular watering and fertilization.
