Full description and specifications

Astrophytum capricorne is a species of cactus native to the arid areas of Mexico.

It has a globular to cylindrical shape, with slow growth and can reach 70-80 cm in height and 10-20 cm in diameter. The body of the cactus is olive-green, covered with some white points of wool, which make the plant look as if it is covered with dust.

Astrophytum capricorne is recognized for its unique shape of tusks, which are long, twisted, rough and black, resembling the horns of a goat.

The flowering period is during the summer, when it produces large, yellow flowers with a red-orange center. The flowers are followed by green or red fruits.

Like all cacti, Astrophytum capricorne prefers a well-drained soil and an environment with a lot of sunlight. Despite its resistance to drought, it is sensitive to excessive humidity and low temperatures. That is why it is ideal for indoor cultivation, in areas with a cold climate.

It is an interesting and decorative plant, especially appreciated for its unusual shape and flowers.

Height with pots included approx. 10 cm
