Masdevallia striatella

Masdevallia striatella is a miniature and compact epiphytic orchid species, native to the humid forests of the mountains in Costa Rica, Panama, and Venezuela, where it grows at high altitudes in cool to warm conditions. It has narrow green leaves about 5-10 cm long, and produces inflorescences with small flowers approximately 1-2 cm, white with purple stripes and short yellow tails, blooming prolifically in autumn and winter. It is easy to cultivate, preferring shade and constant humidity.
