BACTOSPEINE® DF Biological Insecticide – Overview

Technical data:

• Active ingredient: Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki 54%

• Formulation: water-dispersible granules (DF)

Mode of action:

BactoSpeine® DF works by ingestion on the larvae of target pests. Once consumed, the product causes degradation of the intestinal walls, stops feeding, and kills the larvae within 24–72 hours. It is effective against young larvae of the order Lepidoptera, with efficacy comparable to conventional insecticides when applied according to recommendations.

Application method:

Apply at the appearance of the first larvae, during the active feeding stage. Treatments are repeated every 7–10 days, depending on attack pressure and plant growth rate. A maximum of 8 treatments per season can be performed, with a minimum concentration of 10 g/10 L water.

Higher doses are used in case of heavy infestation or when larvae are in advanced stages. The product is applied to dry foliage, and treatment should be avoided before rain (minimum 6 hours drying time). It is biodegradable and selective towards beneficial insects, making it compatible with integrated pest management programs.

Defoliating caterpillars, Fruitworm, Cabbage moth, Tomato moth, Cabbage budworm, Cereal budworm, Grape moth, Beet moth, Spotted moth, Oriental moth, Corn borer, Noctuids, Mulberry tussock moth, Green cloverworm, Silkworm, Flea beetles, and other harmful Lepidoptera.

BACTOSPEINE DF is approved for use in:

• Field and protected vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplants, peas, beans, crucifers, red beet, etc.)

• Ornamental plants

• Fruit trees (apple, pear, cherry, apricot, peach, etc.)

• Vineyards

• Strawberries

• Potatoes

• Corn

• Sunflower

• Rice

• Lawns and nurseries

It can be successfully used for treating exotic plants, including orchids.
Dilution: minimum 10g in 10 L water.
