Feriga de gradina - Polystichum polyblepharum

Polystichum polyblepharum is one of the most elegant garden ferns, valued for its dark green, glossy leaves, with an arching habit and a “clean” look throughout the season. In spring, the new leaves unfurl in decorative spirals, and the clump quickly becomes a focal point in shaded areas, near paths, stones, or under shrubs.

• Light: partial shade – bright shade; avoid strong midday sun

• Watering: regular; prefers consistently moist soil with good drainage (does not tolerate waterlogging)

• Soil: rich in humus, loose, ideally with compost/leaf mold; mulching greatly helps retain moisture

• Maintenance: remove old leaves at the end of winter/beginning of spring, before new ones appear

• In pots: requires more careful watering in summer and winter protection (roots are more exposed)
