Hoya parasitica 'Black Margin' - an endemic species from Thailand and Vietnam. The plant stands out through its impressive, pointed leaves with black edges, silver splashes, and prominent, structured veins.
The flowers are cream-colored with a red center, pleasantly fragrant, and have a lifespan of about 7 days.
When the plant is grown in direct sunlight, the leaf edges become intensely colored, and the new leaves are almost black - hence one of the old names (Hoya parasitica 'Black Leaves').
This variety has been sold over time under various names: Hoya parasitica 'Black Margin', Hoya aff. parasitica, Hoya parasitica 'Black Leaves', Hoya sp. Anjuk Ladang (Vietnam), Hoya EPC-301, Hoya Verticillata Sp. Anjuk Ladang, Hoya verticillata 'Black Margin'.
Currently, theoretically, the correct name would be Hoya verticillata. It should be noted that many collectors, botanists, and even taxonomists consider placing many hoya species in the "verticillata complex" to be exaggerated and senseless, as the differences between the plants are very large and it seems unreasonable for them all to bear the same name, even if they share certain genetic elements.
