We started in 2009 with a small shop. Today, we have our own greenhouse near Bucharest and deliver plants to all 27 countries of the European Union.

What we have learned in 17 years
Thousands of varieties and hundreds of thousands of plants pass through our greenhouse every year. We study and document each one, then turn that knowledge into care guides on our blog and on each product page.
Sourced directly
We select plants directly from renowned growers in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, and other EU countries, through Royal FloraHolland or directly, as well as from certified greenhouses in Taiwan and Thailand.
Grown in our greenhouse
Between the grower and your home, the plants grow in our greenhouse. We monitor them daily and select only healthy specimens, ready for the journey, for delivery.
Packed for every season
Each plant leaves us protected for the journey and the weather outside. In winter, we add thermal insulation free of charge, and for frosty days you can add heat packs.
With you even after delivery
On the website chat, you can get answers 24/7 to questions about watering, light, repotting, or flowering. And for every type of plant, we have SG Mix substrates, created by us.

In Bucharest and parts of Ilfov, we deliver with our own drivers in electric vehicles within 1-3 days: 35 lei, 19 lei for orders over 399 lei, free from 800 lei. Order preparation usually takes 1-3 business days before dispatch.

Sustainability
From the greenhouse to your door
For us, sustainability means concrete choices: where we source our plants, what energy powers the greenhouse, what we pack them in, and how they reach you.
- All plants have a phytosanitary passport (Plant Passport).
- The growers in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and Denmark that we work with, through Royal FloraHolland or directly, are certified GLOBALG.A.P. and MPS - certifications that measure energy, fertilizer, and treatment consumption.
- Plants from Taiwan and Thailand come from certified greenhouses, with a phytosanitary certificate, checks upon entry into the EU, and a Plant Passport.
- Orchids and other protected species have a CITES certificate: they are propagated and grown in greenhouses, not collected from the wild.
- The greenhouse runs on energy from our own photovoltaic panels, with storage batteries, and capacity is increasing.
- We control pests with beneficial insects, and use treatments only when necessary.
- Our substrates are based on bark, coconut fiber, and sphagnum. Where peat is used, it is RPP (Responsibly Produced Peat) certified: it comes from areas that have already been degraded and are restored after extraction.
- The boxes are made of recycled cardboard, and we wrap the plants in kraft paper. Both are recyclable and biodegradable.
- We use plastic only where there is not yet an alternative: adhesive tape and, in winter, insulation film. Both are made from recycled plastic.
- Heat packs generate heat from iron powder inside a biodegradable membrane.
- In Bucharest and Ilfov, we deliver with electric vehicles.
- For DHL Express packages, we pay extra for the GoGreen Plus option: DHL replaces some of its fossil fuel with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
- GLS is reducing its emissions through the Climate Protect program, while FedEx is electrifying its delivery fleet.

Where is the Secret Garden greenhouse?
Our greenhouse is near Bucharest. It is a plant cultivation and growing facility and is not open to visitors. Orders can only be placed online at secretgarden.ro.
Where do the plants come from?
From our own greenhouse; from certified growers in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, and other EU countries, through Royal FloraHolland or directly; and from certified nurseries in Taiwan and Thailand, with phytosanitary certificates, CITES certificates, and Plant Passports.
Which countries do you deliver to?

We’re the same team. We started as a flower shop in 2009, and today we focus exclusively on live plants from our own greenhouse.
