Epiphyllum ackermannii red (Red Orchid Cactus), commonly known as the orchid cactus.

The cutting you order is freshly gathered and represents a section of a leaf – it can be a leaf tip, middle of the leaf, etc... Epiphyllum roots very easily if you follow a few simple steps:
1. After receiving it, you should keep the cutting in a cool, dry, and dark place for at least 8-10 days. This period allows proper healing of the tissue (callus formation). Optionally, at this stage, you can apply various rooting preparations.
2. When planting, choose a pot with a maximum diameter of 10 cm – these plants grow well in relatively small containers compared to the size of the plant. When adding the soil, make sure the cutting has at least two areoles (areas where spines, buds, and/or flowers appear) above the surface. DO NOT compress the soil and do not water for about two weeks. If you notice the cutting drying out excessively, you can mist it every 2-3 days.
3. After the cutting has started to develop roots and possibly new growth, you can begin watering. From this point on, do not let the soil become completely dry. After each watering, make sure the water has fully drained from the pot and never let it pool in saucers or decorative pots. If the air humidity is low, you can mist the plant periodically (not excessively!).
Attention – these instructions are meant to guide you and do not guarantee the success of propagation/rooting. The entire process depends on microclimate, materials, tools used, and human factors.
The cuttings are taken from mature plants, which can be quite old, so they may have leaves with scars or other aesthetic imperfections.

Cutting size: approx. 8-10 cm
