Cymbidium Claire is a historic ("vintage") hybrid of the genus Cymbidium, resulting from the cross between Cymbidium Isabel Sander and Cymbidium Magali Sander.

Registration: It was registered with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in 1940 by the famous nursery Sanders (St Albans), one of the most important names in the history of orchid hybridization.

Genetics: This hybrid has an interesting genetic composition, being dominated by Cymbidium lowianum var. kalawense (37.5%) and Cymbidium insigne (25%). It also contains equal percentages (12.5% each) of Cymbidium sanderae, Cymbidium lowianum (typical form), and Cymbidium schroederi.
It is a robust plant, appreciated by collectors for its exotic flowers, reminiscent of wild species but with the vigor of a hybrid.
