Wasabi japonica (Japonský křen)

Wasabi japonica - is a rhizome plant from the Brassicaceae family, which also includes cabbage, horseradish, and mustard. It is commonly known as "Japanese Horseradish".

The root of Wasabi japonica is used as a spice and flavoring - from it is made the famous spicy Wasabi sauce, associated both with sushi and other dishes.

The leaves are also edible, having a sharpness and specific aroma, but less intense than the root.
