Primulina yungfuensis is a perennial botanical species in the Gesneriaceae family, native to Guangxi, China, more precisely the Yongfu area.

It is a compact plant, appreciated for its decorative leaf rosette and delicate, tubular flowers characteristic of the genus Primulina. It is very well suited to Gesneriaceae collections and less common botanical plants, preferring bright conditions protected from strong direct sunlight.

  • Light: prefers medium to bright, indirect light. Avoid intense direct sunlight.

  • Watering: moderate; keep the substrate slightly moist during the active growing period, but do not allow water to stagnate.

  • Substrate: light, airy, and well drained, with moderate moisture retention.

  • Humidity: appreciates moderate to high atmospheric humidity, together with good air circulation.

  • Temperature: prefers mild temperatures, approximately 18-26°C.

  • Fertilization: light to moderate during the active growing period.

  • Water on the leaves: avoid keeping the foliage wet for long periods, especially in poorly ventilated conditions.

  • Cold tolerance: it is not suitable for unprotected overwintering outdoors in Romania; protect it from frost.

🌱 Recommended substrate

For Primulina yungfuensis, we recommend a fine, loose, and very well-drained substrate with moderate moisture retention. The root system benefits from a mix that remains airy and does not become compacted after repeated watering.
