Notocactus uebelmannianus f. inermis, known in modern horticultural taxonomy as Parodia werneri f. inermis, is a distinctive cultivated form appreciated for its globular, dark green body and the almost complete absence of spines. The species is native to southern Brazil, particularly Rio Grande do Sul, and is known for its spectacular flowers, which may range from wine red and intense magenta to purple. The inermis form retains the robust appearance of the species but has a much cleaner, more minimalist look due to its greatly reduced or absent spination.

• Watering: moderate during the active growing period; allow the substrate to dry out thoroughly between waterings.

• Winter: reduce watering considerably, especially if the plant is kept at lower temperatures.

• Humidity: prefers good air circulation and does not require high atmospheric humidity.

• Temperature: appreciates warm temperatures during the growing season.

• Cold tolerance: we do not recommend exposing potted specimens to frost. Cold overwintering should only be carried out in dry, controlled conditions.

• Fertilization: light to moderate during the active growing period, using a fertilizer intended for cacti.
