Phalaenopsis sanderiana (stříbrné listy)
701,00 Kč
Phalaenopsis sanderiana 'silver leaves' is a botanical species of epiphytic orchid native to the Philippines, especially the island of Mindanao, where it grows at low altitudes in warm and humid areas. It belongs to the Orchidaceae family (subfamily Epidendroideae, tribe Vandeae, subtribe Aeridinae). The species was first described by Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach in 1882 and was later named in honor of the British horticulturist Henry Frederick Conrad Sander.
The flower clusters emerge from the leaf axils, in the form of long, curved stalks that can reach up to 80 cm in length and can hold a significant number of flowers, from a few to several dozen, depending on the plant's maturity. The flowers generally have a diameter of 5-8.5 cm, with sepals and petals in shades of pale pink or lilac, while the lip (labellum) is white with yellow accents towards the inside. The petal texture is slightly waxy, and the flowers open in stages – the blooming period thus lasts up to several months.
Mature specimens are capable of producing several flower-laden stalks simultaneously.
Flower size: 5-8.5 cm (depending on the plant's maturity)
