Hoya coronaria 'Red Corona' is a selection of the accepted species Hoya coronaria, a vigorous vine from southern Thailand and western and central Malaysia, with slightly pubescent, elliptic foliage. The Red Corona label refers to the darker red corona on large, star-shaped flowers that are especially fragrant at night. Red Corona is not a separate taxon; it is a sales label for the corona color. Foliage and growth. The foliage is elliptic and thick, with slightly reflexed margins and a pubescent underside. Flowers and fragrance. The species has large, star-shaped, waxy flowers for the genus, grouped in umbels.
