Brassocatanthe Sun Mei Gold 'Elsie May' HCC/AOS is a hybrid with fragrant flowers, resulting from the crossing of Brassocattleya Richard Mueller x Cattlianthe Sun Mei Star, registered by Sun Mei Orch. in 2007, awarded the Highly Commended Certificate by the American Orchid Society. It features oval pseudobulbs and long, green leaves, while the flowers are large, about 8 cm, yellow-orange with red-purple spots, with yellow petals and sepals and a yellow lip spotted with purple. It blooms irregularly throughout the year with 4-8 flowers per stem, giving off a pleasant scent. It prefers strong indirect light, intermediate-warm temperatures, and moderate humidity. It is valued for its vibrant flowers, fragrance, and vigorous growth.
