Brassocatanthe Sun Mei Gold 'Elsie May' HCC/AOS is a fragrant hybrid resulting from the crossing of Brassocattleya Richard Mueller x Cattlianthe Sun Mei Star, registered by Sun Mei Orch. in 2007, awarded a Highly Commended Certificate by the American Orchid Society. It has oval pseudobulbs and long, green leaves, and the flowers are large, approximately 8 cm, yellow-orange with red-purple spots, with yellow petals and sepals and yellow labellum spotted with purple. It blooms irregularly throughout the year with 4-8 flowers per stem, emanating a pleasant fragrance. It prefers bright indirect light, intermediate-warm temperatures and moderate humidity. It is appreciated for its vibrant flowers, fragrance and vigorous growth.
