Monstera variegata 'Thai Constellation'
Monstera 'Thai Constellation' is a cultivar of the species Monstera deliciosa, belonging to the Araceae family. This cultivar features sectorial variegation in varying shades of white-cream-yellow and green irregularly distributed across the leaf surface, resulting from a genetic mutation.
The mature leaves of this plant have fenestrations (and/or perforations) and are heart-shaped, with entire or lobed edges. Monstera deliciosa 'Thai Constellation' is a large epiphytic vine, meaning it naturally grows on other plants without being parasitic and gains support by wrapping around its host.
Monstera deliciosa 'Thai Constellation' requires moderate to bright indirect light, a substrate with proper drainage properties, and watering when the top few centimeters of the substrate have dried out. Due to the plant's natural climbing tendency, it is recommended to use a large support or moss pole to facilitate vertical growth.
Humidity. Considering the species' origin (tropical jungle), the plant thrives in high atmospheric humidity. However, it can be relatively easily acclimated within the 40-60% range, with the higher end preferred. During acclimation periods, it is recommended to frequently mist the leaves at first to prevent black spots. Misting can be gradually reduced.
Height including pot: approx. 30 cm
Pot diameter: 11 cm
Note: Sensitive variety that may show foliage defects after transport and handling. The level and pattern of variegation vary from one specimen to another, but all specimens display the characteristic variegation.
