Fougère de jardin - Polystichum tsus-simense (fougère roche coréenne)
Polystichum tsus-simense, often known as Korean fern or rock fern, is a perennial plant with very good resistance to low temperatures.
Appearance: It has evergreen, lance-shaped leaves with a pinnate structure, growing in an arching form. The leaves are dark green with a slightly glossy texture.
Size: It is a small to medium-sized fern, usually growing between 30 and 60 cm in height.
Habitat: Prefers partially shaded or fully shaded areas. It is often found in nature on rocks or in deciduous forests.
Cold resistance: Polystichum tsus-simense is cold-hardy, able to withstand conditions in USDA zones 5-8. This means the plant can tolerate temperatures down to -28.9°C, making it suitable for regions with cold winters.
Soil: This fern prefers well-drained but moist soils, with a slightly acidic to neutral nature.
Polystichum tsus-simense is valued for its elegant shape and its ability to grow in shaded areas, making it ideal for undergrowth or as a planting in the forest floor or woodland garden.
📌 Note: Leaves may show small natural imperfections, slightly marked tips, older leaves partially dried, or fine marks resulting from handling and transport. Depending on the season, the plant may have mature leaves, developing leaves, or may start growing more slowly. These aspects are normal for this type of fern and do not affect the plant’s viability.
