Vanilla Planifolia 'Albo-Variegata' oder Vanilleorchidee – eine botanische Art, die sowohl von Sammlern als exotische Pflanze geschätzt wird als auch wegen ihrer aromatischen Schoten, die einen sehr hohen Handelswert besitzen. Derzeit übersteigt der Wert der Vanilleschoten oft den von Silber.

Vanille ist eine schnell wachsende Pflanze, epiphytisch oder halb-epiphytisch, mit grünen oder buntlaubigen Blättern. Die Ranken erreichen beeindruckende Längen von bis zu 60 m und besitzen Luftwurzeln, die der Pflanze helfen, sich festzuklammern, indem sie sich an Baumstämmen, Felsen oder anderen Unterlagen, die sie findet, befestigt. Mit dem Wachstum verdicken sich die Ranken, damit die Pflanze ihr Gewicht tragen kann.

This is truely an exceptional, outstanding little plant end that normally so difficult to fiind. It is not as difficult to make them grow as I initially thought, way easier than many other orchids. When spring arrives and they get the temperature and light they need, they grow very well. This is the secret though : wait until they get used to their new home and then replant them. I did it keeping the sphagnum they are planted in. Use a bigger pot and use the medium sold here. It is absolutely perfect.

They make friends, family and colleagues happy as a small gift. One other thing that made me purchasing them over and over again is thet the team takes a very particular care packing your plant. This is such a delicate litle orchid that it would not forgive a poor shipping job.
