Pilea peperomioides ‘Mojito’ is a rare and highly valued variety of the popular “Chinese money plant” or “money plant.” It stands out through its spectacular and unique foliage.

Main features:

Leaves: round, glossy, with an irregular variegated pattern in shades of light green, dark green, and white or yellowish spots. Each leaf is different, offering a “splattered” or “painted” effect specific to the ‘Mojito’ variety.

Growth: the plant has a compact and upright shape in its young stage, then gains a fuller and slightly arching appearance as it grows.

Size: can reach 20-40 cm in height and width under ideal conditions.

Light: prefers strong indirect light. Direct exposure to strong sunlight can cause leaf burns.

Watering: the soil should be allowed to dry partially between waterings. It is sensitive to excess water, so good drainage is essential.

Temperature: moderate. Does not tolerate temperatures below 10°C.

Humidity: tolerates usual indoor humidity but prefers slightly moister environments.

Soil: light and well-drained mix, such as a substrate for tropical plants with added perlite or sand.

Additional care:

Rotate the pot periodically for symmetrical growth, as the plant tends to lean toward the light.

Remove yellow or damaged leaves to encourage healthy growth.

Pilea ‘Mojito’ produces “pups” (side shoots) which you can separate and replant.

Height with pot included approx. 20 cm

Note: Specimens may also have leaves with imperfections.
