Hoya meredithii is an epiphytic species from Borneo, published in 1988 by T. Green. The foliage is large and textured, with dark venation on a light green background and a slightly toothed or wavy margin. The leaves can become very broad at maturity; this batch is a young import, so its current size does not represent that of an adult specimen. The flowers are small and yellow, with an open corona, and are fragrant. Flowering depends on the plant’s maturity and growing conditions.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are broad and firm, with prominent veins forming a reticulated pattern. The background is light green, while the venation is dark green. The margin may be slightly toothed or wavy. Leaf size increases with maturity; a young import does not yet display the species’ maximum leaf size. It has a climbing vine growth habit. The level of development is influenced by the season.

Flowers and fragrance. The flowers are small and grouped in umbels. The corolla is yellow, while the corona is open and almost white. They are fragrant. Flowering depends on the plant’s maturity and growing conditions.

Identity. The accepted botanical name is Hoya meredithii T.Green, published in Phytologia 64: 304 (1988). The species is native to Borneo (Sabah and Sarawak). It is not a variegated form. The commercial title refers to the species’ textured, huge leaves as a characteristic, not as a guaranteed size for this batch.

The ceramic pot is not included in the price. The specimens in stock have leaf defects.

Substrate: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
