Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi (syn. Phal. lamelligera) - Found in India, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, the Nicobar Islands, Malaysia, Java, Borneo, Sumatra and the Philippines, this plant grows in exposed lowland locations, on low vegetation in fairly open areas or in dense riverine forests at altitudes between 200 and 1000 meters. It is a small epiphyte or lithophyte, adapted to warm to moderate temperatures. It has a short stem covered with overlapping leaf bases and fleshy leaves. It blooms on a lateral peduncle, 9 to 42 cm long, with many flowers (7-12). The flowers, which are fragrant and long-lasting, can appear at any time of the year, but with greater frequency in spring and autumn. It is recommended to keep the flower stalks as long as they are green, because the plant tends to re-flower on the same stem. It has sequential flowering.

This species can be mounted or planted in a coarse medium with free drainage, needing semi-shade, high humidity and a distinct dry period during winter.

Flower size: 3-5 cm

Fragrant flowers: YES - strong fragrance
