Paraphalanthe Frida (Pplt. De La Salle × Pps. laycockii) - dišeče rože
€21,95
Paraphalanthe Frida (Pplt. De La Salle x Pps. laycockii) is an intergeneric hybrid belonging to the Orchidaceae family, known for the elegant appearance of its flowers and leaves. The plant develops epiphytically, compact, adapted to grow on tree bark, where aerial roots capture moisture and nutrients from the environment.
The stems are short and can gradually form slightly prominent pseudobulbs that store water and nutrients. The leaves are lanceolate, usually bright green, with a semi-leathery texture. They are arranged alternately and can reach moderate lengths, contributing to the plant's compact appearance.
The flowers are large, fragrant, appearing in racemose inflorescences supported by thin but sturdy flower stems. The petals and sepals may have slightly different shades. The labellum (flower lip) is more pronounced, with distinct shapes and patterns, in shades of red-cyclamen with yellow, attracting pollinators through color and shape.
Paraphalanthe Frida prefers filtered light conditions, avoiding direct exposure to intense sunlight. The ideal substrate should ensure good drainage, generally based on pine bark, sphagnum moss, or other components that help maintain moisture without causing excessive water accumulation. Regular watering and fertilizing, adapted to the growth rhythm, contribute to maintaining the plant's health. During rest periods, watering is reduced to allow recovery and the initiation of a new flowering cycle.
By combining the characteristics of the two parent species, this hybrid offers particularly attractive flowers and relatively easy growth, appreciated both by orchid collectors and enthusiasts who want an ornamental plant in their collection.
