Dipladenia, also known as Mandevilla or Brazilian Jasomnia, is an apartment or terrace plant, particularly decorative due to the abundance of large, trumpet-shaped, white, yellow, pink or red flowers.

Care

• Light : Prefer direct sunlight for at least a few hours a day. A southern or western exposure is ideal to encourage abundant flowering.
• Watering : Watering must be regular, keeping the soil constantly moist, but not soaked. On very hot summer days, daily watering may be necessary. Ensure good drainage of the pot to avoid rotting of the roots.
• Soil : A well-drained, rich potting mix, such as a potting mix for flowering plants, is ideal. The pH of the soil should be slightly acidic to neutral.
• Fertilization : Apply a liquid fertilizer rich in phosphorus, diluted to half the recommended strength, once every two weeks during the period of active growth to stimulate flowering.
• Pruning : Pruning may be necessary to maintain the shape of the plant and to encourage branching. Prune after flowering or at the beginning of spring.
• Wintering : If you live in an area with cold winters, the plant should be brought indoors or protected, because it does not tolerate temperatures below zero degrees Celsius.
• Growth : It is a tropical liana, which can grow quickly, reaching lengths of up to 3-4 meters in a single season, under ideal conditions.
