Hoya calycina 'Stargazer' - XL specimens - the most fragrant Hoya

Hoya calycina 'Stargazer' is a vigorous Dutch horticultural selection with large foliage and spectacular flowers, marketed under this name since 2005. The base species, Hoya calycina, is botanically accepted and originates from New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago. 'Stargazer' differs in cultivation through its flowers, which have a stronger red coloration, and its intense fragrance, described without comparative rankings.

Foliage. The leaves are large, green, and distinctly pubescent, forming dense foliage on vigorous vines. Some leaves and vines may have defects or damage.

Flowers. The star-shaped flowers, grouped in umbels, have light-colored petals with a more pronounced red area toward the center. The fragrance is strong and sweet; scent comparisons, including a lilac note, remain subjective. The plant may flower repeatedly when conditions are favorable, but frequency is not guaranteed.

Commercial note. The height, including the pot, is approximately 70 cm. For specimens sold with flowers or peduncles, the flowers, buds, or peduncles may be affected during transport; purchase implies acceptance of this risk.
