Hoya acuta 'Variegata' is a true-variegated cultivar of the accepted species Hoya verticillata. The lot includes already established XL specimens, suitable for hanging baskets. The variegation is internal: creamy-yellow centers with green margins. The intensity of the pattern varies from one vine to another and from one shoot to another. Each specimen has its own variegation pattern. Each vine has its own pattern.

Foliage and variegation. The leaves are thick, glossy, and oval-elliptical. The light-colored areas are usually located in the center of the leaf blade, while the green forms an outline. The intensity varies from one leaf to another; in the same pot, there may be vines that are almost entirely green and vines with only a little green along the edges. New growth may temporarily have pink tones. 'Variegata' is the label for this selection. It is not the same selection as 'Albomarginata', in which the variegation occurs along the margins.

Flowers and fragrance. The umbels are full, with waxy, creamy-white flowers. The corona has a yellow-orange center, sometimes with a pink tinge. The fragrance is mildly spicy. An umbel lasts for several days. The peduncles are persistent and may rebloom. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.

Identity. The accepted name is Hoya verticillata (Vahl) G.Don. Hoya acuta Haw. is a synonym. The species is a widespread epiphyte, ranging from the Indian subcontinent to southern China and western and central Malesia. It is marketed as Hoya verticillata 'Variegata'. The XL specimens mentioned in the title describe the commercial stage of the lot, not a variety.

Substrate: use an airy, well-drained mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
