Echinocereus subinermis

Echinocereus subinermis is a cactus native to Mexico, known for its unique and attractive appearance. The plant has a cylindrical or slightly oval shape, reaching moderate sizes. Its surface is covered with short spines, often absent or very fine, which gives it a friendlier look than other cacti. The color is usually a deep green, with shades that can vary depending on growing conditions. During the flowering period, Echinocereus subinermis produces large, striking flowers.

Echinocereus subinermis prefers plenty of light. Make sure the plant receives at least 5-6 hours of direct sunlight daily. It can be kept outdoors during summer in a sunny spot but should be brought indoors during winter in areas where temperatures drop below freezing.

This cactus requires moderate watering. In the growing season (spring-summer), water the plant when the soil becomes completely dry. Reduce watering during winter, keeping the soil nearly dry, as the plant enters a resting period. Use a well-draining soil mix, specially made for cacti.
