Clematis 'Hagley Hybrid' - clematis z velikimi cvetovi XL (Skupina poznih velikocvetnih)
Clematis 'Hagley Hybrid' - the spectacular star-shaped flowers, of a light shell-pink, show a darker pink stripe when freshly opened, maturing to a pale pink-purple. The average size of the flowers is about 13 cm. This variety also tolerates shadier spots.
Classification: Late Large-flowered Group
This type of clematis prefers good quality soil, rich in nutrients, moist but well drained. It is recommended to improve the soil at planting time with manure or compost, as much as possible. When growing in drier soils that tend to dry out quickly, cover the base with a layer of shredded bark (or another type of mulch) to retain soil moisture.
Clematis generally prefer a growing space with good sun exposure.
It is not necessary to remove the faded flowers of these clematis, but if they seem to have finished blooming earlier than expected, a light pruning can encourage new growth and a second flowering late in autumn.
In the cold season, the plants appear as leafless sticks that look dry – this is perfectly normal and the plants are fully alive.
Height including pot: approx. 30-40 cm
