Full description and specifications

Chamaecereus luisramirezii is a species of dwarf cactus, relatively newly discovered, of the genus Chamaecereus. It is a low-growing, creeping cactus, very decorative and suitable for succulent plant collections due to its special appearance. Like other species in the Chamaecereus genus, it is prized for its interesting shape, vibrant flowers and low maintenance requirements.

Care:

  1. Light: Chamaecereus prefers direct sunlight, but must be protected from the scorching midday sun in areas with very hot climates. Sunlight is essential for flowering.

  2. Watering: As with most cacti, watering should be moderate. Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.

  3. Soil: Use a well-drained soil mix specially designed for cacti. A poor soil with good drainage is ideal, to prevent excessive water retention that can lead to rotting of the roots.

  4. Temperature: Chamaecereus is resistant to low temperatures, but should be protected from frost. If you live in an area where temperatures drop below zero, it is ideal to move the plant indoors or in a protected space during the winter.

  5. Fertilization: Fertilize lightly during the period of active growth (spring and summer) using a special fertilizer for cacti, diluted to half the recommended strength.

The plant is sold without flowers.
