Aloe striata (also known as Coral Aloe) is a species of succulent aloe, valued for its smooth, green-blue leaves with distinctive red edges, giving it an impressive decorative appearance.
Description:
• Family: Asphodelaceae
• Origin: South Africa
• Size: Grows up to 30-45 cm in height and 60 cm in diameter
• Leaves: Wide, smooth, green-blue leaves without spines on the edges, but with a reddish or coral tint, more pronounced under water stress or intense sun exposure.
• Flowers: Blooms in spring, producing tall flower stalks (up to 90 cm) with tubular, orange-coral colored flowers, attractive to birds and bees.
• Growth: A plant with a moderate growth rate, adapted to drought conditions.
Care:
• Light: Prefers strong light, direct sun or partial shade. Greater exposure to sun intensifies the leaf color.
• Soil: Requires a well-drained substrate, preferably a mix for cacti and succulents.
• Watering: Water moderately in the warm season, allowing the soil to dry between waterings. In winter, watering should be significantly reduced.
• Temperature: It withstands temperatures down to -5°C for a short time, but it is recommended to protect it during freezing periods.
