Full description and specifications

Tephrocactus alexanderi is a species of cactus native to Argentina. It is part of the Cactaceae family and the Opuntioideae subfamily. Cacti of the genus Tephrocactus are usually recognized for their spherical or ovoid segments, which easily detach from the plant.

Tephrocactus alexanderi is a small to medium-sized cactus that often grows in the form of a bush, with elongated light-green or blue-green segments. It has long and thick thorns, usually white or gray. The flowers, which appear in spring or summer, are usually white or cream.

This plant is adapted to dry environments, with low rainfall and a large temperature variation between day and night. It is drought resistant and requires well-drained soil to prevent root rot.
