Phalaenopsis Veitchiana (Phalaenopsis equestris x Phalaenopsis schilleriana)

Phalaenopsis Veitchiana is a natural hybrid (nothospecies) that occurs spontaneously in nature, resulting from the crossbreeding of Phalaenopsis equestris and Phalaenopsis schilleriana. It is found in the wild in the Philippines, in areas where the two parent species coexist, especially on Luzon Island and surrounding regions.

It is one of the best-known and most appreciated natural hybrids in the Phalaenopsis genus. It combines characteristics from both parent species: a relatively compact-medium size, beautiful flowers, and the ability to produce branched inflorescences. The plant has medium-sized leaves, sometimes with a slight silvery marbling inherited from Phal. schilleriana. The flowers are 6–8 cm, in shades from intense pink to pink-purple, with darker veins or spots, and have an elegant and classic appearance.
