Monstera dubia (H30)
250.00 kr
Monstera dubia - a rare botanical species, native to the tropical forests of Mexico and South America. It is a remarkable plant due to its unique appearance, growth habit, and the spectacular transformation it undergoes as it matures.
In its juvenile form, the plant has small to medium-sized heart-shaped leaves with a silvery variegation, almost reflective, interrupted by green veins. Newly opened leaves also have a fascinating look - they are colored in shades of green-silver and are semi-transparent.
As it matures, the leaf transformation is dramatic - they become elongated, the silvery variegation begins to fade, and the characteristic fenestrations and perforations of the genus appear. The adult leaf can reach a length of 38 cm.
Synonyms: Monstera acreana, Monstera irritans, Marcgavia dubia.
Here are some tips for caring for Monstera dubia:
- Place the plant in a spot with strong indirect light. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, as it can burn the leaves.
- Water the plant regularly, keeping the soil moist but not soaked. Allow the top centimeter of soil to dry out between waterings.
- Fertilize the plant every two weeks during the growing season with a balanced fertilizer, diluted to half the recommended dose.
- Spray the plant regularly, especially during the winter months when the air is dry.
Specimens may also have leaves with imperfections.
Note: Plants are mounted on pieces of untreated, brittle natural bark.
The height of the plant is measured including the pot.
