Hoya crassipetiolata 'Splash' is a cultivar with firm, glossy foliage and a silver pattern along the veins. The intensity and distribution of the markings vary from one leaf to another. This batch is not the selection sold as Splash Round. The growth habit is climbing, with flexible vines whose tips can be brittle. Under good growing conditions, small umbels may appear, described as subtly fragrant. Flowering depends on the plant’s maturity and growing conditions.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are elliptical and thick, with robust petioles, a feature that gave the species its name. The veins form a reticulated pattern, accentuated by the silver areas. In good light, the foliage becomes more contrasting. The tips of the vines are brittle and may be damaged during transport or handling.

Flowers and fragrance. The flowers are described as subtly fragrant. Their color and fragrance intensity may vary depending on growing conditions. Flowering depends on the plant’s maturity and growing conditions.

Botanical identity and origin. The accepted botanical name is Hoya crassipetiolata Aver., V.T.Pham & T.A.Le, published in 2017. The species is native to Vietnam. Hoya hainanensis is a separately accepted species. Commercial labels such as Da Nang or DaNang Vietnam indicate the origin of the horticultural material, not a different botanical name. Splash is not a registered cultivar and is not variegation.

Substrate: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
