Hoya albiflora is a climbing species native to New Guinea, cultivated for its large foliage and fragrant white flowers. The leaves are elliptic-lanceolate, thick, with prominent venation and a tropical appearance. The plant produces long, flexible vines, making it suitable for a support or a hanging pot. It is a collector’s Hoya, prized especially for the contrast between its ample foliage and white umbels.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are horticulturally described as large, generally 10–18 cm long and 5–9 cm wide, light green to medium green, and slightly pubescent. Actual size varies depending on the plant’s age and growing conditions. The growth habit is climbing or trailing.

Flowers and fragrance. The flowers are white and grouped in umbels. They are fragrant, although perceived intensity may vary. Flowering depends on the plant’s maturity and growing conditions.

Botanical identity and origin. The accepted botanical name is Hoya albiflora (Blume) Zipp. ex K.Schum., published in 1895. The plant grows as a vine in a humid tropical biome.

Substrate: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium – SG Mix.
