Care of Haworthia Superfasciata
Light :
- Prefer strong indirect light or filtered sun.
- It can tolerate direct morning light, but must be protected from strong afternoon sun, which can burn the leaves.
- In an environment with insufficient light, the plant can become etiolated (elongated and deformed).
Soil :
- It needs a well-drained soil, recommended for cacti and succulents.
- A mixture of all-purpose soil with coarse sand or perlite is ideal to prevent waterlogging.
Watering :
- Water the plant only when the soil is completely dry, usually once every 2-3 weeks in the warm season.
- Reduce watering in the cold season, once a month or even less often.
- Excess water can cause root rot and fungal diseases.
Temperature :
- It develops optimally at temperatures between 15°C and 25°C.
- Does not tolerate frost; ensure temperatures above 10°C throughout the year.
Humidity :
- It prefers an environment with low or moderate humidity.
- High humidity can favor the development of fungi and pests.
Fertilization :
- Apply a weak fertilizer for cacti and succulents once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).
- Avoid excessive fertilization, which can damage the plant.
Replanting :
- Replant every 2-3 years or when the plant outgrows the pot.
- Use a pot with drainage holes and a fresh substrate.
Propagation :
- It is easily propagated by separating the young (small rosettes) that appear at the base of the plant.
- The seedlings must be planted in a dry and well-drained substrate.
Height with pots included approx. 12 cm.
