Full description and specifications

Gymnocalycium mesopotamicum is a species of cactus native to the Gran Chaco region of South America. It is known for its spherical shape, light green in color, with subtle thorns and the pink or white flower that usually appears in spring.

The cactus grows slowly, normally reaching a height of about 5-10 cm. Its compact shape and light weight make it ideal for growing as an apartment plant.

Gymnocalycium mesopotamicum is adapted to drought conditions and prefers direct or semi-direct light. Like other cacti, it needs well-drained soil and should only be watered when the soil is completely dry. During the winter, the plant enters a dormant period and requires less water.

It is an easy plant to care for, which makes it a popular choice for beginners in cacti care. However, it is sensitive to root rot if it is left in stagnant water, so excessive watering should be avoided.
